Whether you want to relax with ikebana away from the hustle of the city or seriously enter the world of authentic ikebana, Aya will take you through the process step by step.
You will have a chance to work with a variety of materials, tools, and vessels. You will learn not only the art of creating arrangements that pay homage to the culture and traditions of ikebana but also the mysterious and fascinating philosophy and spirit behind the centuries-old supreme art of Japan.
At the end of the lesson, you will enjoy traditional Japanese tea time.

Ikebana class
what you will learn?
What you will learn in this Ikebana class is "Ikenobo Ikebana". Ikenobo is the origin of the Japanese Ikebana. In other words, you will learn the most orthodox Ikebana in the world. Ikenobo Ikebana is characterized by a wide range of flowers from classical to modern. Based on the aesthetics cultivated over a long history, you can make flowers that match your current sensibilities. A free and artistic Japanese flower arrangement that overturns the image of "Ikebana is complicated and difficult". Why don't you relax and face the flowers and play with them?
Ikebana styles have three styles: Ricca style, Shoka style, and Freestyle. Ricca and Shoka styles are classic flowers with patterns and advanced lessons. As the name implies, Freestyle has no design, and you create it yourself.
In the Introductory course, you will learn the Freestyle, and if students wish to study higher level, we'll lead you more. It all depends on your wish to learn. And the most important thing is to enjoy touching flowers and nature to heal yourself.
Ikebana course-step by step
Step 1.< Freestyle >
Lessons start with Freestyle. Learn how to get the most out of your plants by naturally touching different flowers and plants and repeating the task repeatedly.
Step 2. <Shoka style>
Once your skills have improved to some extent, students will enter the “Shoka style”.
Founded in the middle of the Edo period, it has a history of about 250 years. It features a simple and sophisticated appearance. Learn the beauty that has been refined over the years.
Step 3. <Rikka style>
As the lesson progresses, students will challenge the Rikka style, a classic style of ikebana that has existed for about 500 years. It features a complex and luxurious composition. Depending on your goals and skills, practice three styles in parallel and continuously.
Guidance to each person
In my Ikebana class, regardless of the number of people, It is individual guidance. We will give tuition according to each person's level of understanding and individuality.
Even in the seats next to each other, the students are creating Ikebana under different themes. There is no pressure for everyone to complete it in time, so you slowly face the flowers until you are satisfied. It's also beneficial to look up to other people's works from time to time.
about certificate
Depending on your progress in learning ikebana, you can obtain a license from Ikenobo Society of Floral Art, Kyoto Headquarters, one of the top Ikebana schools in Japan.
The license is proof of achievement that you have continued to practice to that extent, and at the same time, it has the meaning of forgiveness that you can learn the further advanced course.
Depending on the stage of the license, a flower biography will also be attached. The flower arrangement book is a compilation of various ikebana traditions that have been handed down from ancient times. You can learn more deeply by practising based on a message filled with the wisdom and aesthetics of our predecessors.
